Inserting New Pages

There are several ways in which you can add new pages to a publication. The first method duplicates your current page layout and inserts a new page after it. If you use the Insert Page dialogue box, you can specify in more detail how and where you want new pages inserted.

To insert a new page from the keyboard

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + N

A new page is inserted after the current page, with the same layout.

To insert a new page from the Insert Page dialogue box

  • From the Insert menu, select Page...

The Insert Page dialogue box is displayed.

  • In the Number of new pages: box, type the number of pages you want to insert
  • Select the Before current page or After current page as appropriate
  • Click OK

Navigating Between Pages

The Page Navigation icons on the Status bar show you how many pages there are in your publication. The current page icon appears reversed out.

To go to a different page

  • On the Status bar, click the icon of the page you want to move to

Deleting Pages

To remove the current page

  • From the Edit menu, select Delete Page

The following warning box is displayed.

If you are viewing a two page spread when you select this command a dialogue box will be displayed asking if you want to delete both pages or just the left page or just the right page. In order to maintain the structure of your publication it is often easier to delete both pages and start again.
